Spatial inequalities study

Luxembourg by no doubt is a country of rich residents. However inequalities are present in its general population as well as specific population groups such as children. The aim of this study is to look at spatial inequalities in Luxembourg at a fine geographical scale. The maps below present the unemployment rate of those economically active at commune level in Luxembourg. The left map is a regular thematic map while the right map is a cartogram. The latter is an alternative cartographic representation in which geographical area is modified based on the variable it maps. This allows for a more powerful visualisation.
